The 500-metre-long flyover, which began construction in 2020, was initially supposed to be completed in just 15 months. However, the project ran into multiple roadblocks, from land acquisition delays to funding hold-ups, bringing work to a frustrating standstill.
Now, with the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) pushing hard to meet the latest deadline, the project has finally reached its finishing stage. Officials, including Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development Department Tushar Girinath and GBA Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao, have given the final deadline and sped up the ongoing work.

Currently, wet-mix and asphalting works are in progress on both down-ramps, and completion is expected by the end of October. Once open, the flyover will be a major boon for daily commuters travelling between Mysuru Road, Banashankari, and Silk Board, where vehicles currently spend 20-30 minutes stuck at Hosakerehalli Junction due to narrow service roads and heavy traffic.
