Railways approve stoppage for four key express trains at Nayandahalli station, improving connectivity for Mysuru, Bengaluru and North Karnataka commuters.
Residents in and around Nayandahalli have received a major transport boost with Indian Railways approving stoppages for four express trains at Nayandahalli railway station. The decision is expected to significantly ease travel for daily commuters and long-distance passengers in West Bengaluru.
Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V Somanna, confirmed that four important express trains will now halt at Nayandahalli. This move addresses a long-standing demand from residents of rapidly growing residential and commercial areas in this part of the city.

The trains that will now stop at Nayandahalli station are:
• Mysuru – KSR Bengaluru City Express (16215/16216)
• Mysuru – Bagalkote Basava Express (17307/17308)
• Tuticorin – Mysuru Express (16235/16236)
• Mysuru – Pandharpur Golgumbaz Express (16535/16536)
The new stoppages will benefit people living in Nayandahalli, Nagarabhavi, RR Nagar, Chandralayout and surrounding localities. These areas have seen rapid urban expansion, and residents often had to travel to distant major stations to board express trains.
With this change, passengers travelling between Mysuru and Bengaluru, as well as those heading towards North Karnataka, will find rail travel more accessible and time-saving. The move is also expected to reduce crowding at major Bengaluru stations by distributing passenger load more evenly.

ARailway officials say the stoppage will improve last-mile connectivity and make Nayandahalli an important suburban rail access point for West Bengaluru.
