Swift action by Namma 112 and city police ensured the safe return of a four-year-old child who was accidentally left behind in a cab during a late-night trip to Ponnappa Layout.
In a tense late-night incident, a four-year-old child who was accidentally left behind in a cab in Bengaluru was safely traced and reunited with his family within an hour, thanks to the prompt response of city police and the Namma 112 emergency helpline.
The incident occurred on Saturday night during the family’s return journey to their apartment in Ponnappa Layout. The child had fallen asleep inside the cab while travelling. On reaching their destination, the family got down without noticing that the child was still asleep in the back seat. Unaware of the situation, the cab driver drove away.

Moments later, after entering their home, the family realised the child was missing and immediately raised an alarm. Panic set in as they searched the surroundings, but the child could not be found. The family then contacted the Namma 112 emergency helpline, reporting the incident.
Police quickly swung into action, traced the cab using available ride details, and contacted the driver. He was informed that a child was asleep in his vehicle and was asked to immediately return to the drop-off location. Within a short span of time, the cab arrived back at the apartment, and the child was safely handed over to his relieved family.
