For the first time, city police roll out QR-based information system and expand women safety measures across major New Year crowd zones like MG Road and Brigade Road.
As Bengaluru counts down to New Year celebrations, the Bengaluru City Police have launched a first-of-its-kind digital initiative to ensure safer and more informed celebrations across the city. Adding a digital touch to crowd management, police have introduced QR code-based information access for the public.
For the first time, QR codes have been placed at high-footfall celebration zones including MG Road, Brigade Road and other popular gathering areas. By scanning these QR codes, citizens can instantly access essential information related to New Year celebrations.

What the QR code provides
Police officials said the QR code system offers multiple features in one place. Once scanned, users can view event locations, safety advisories, live updates, and awareness videos designed to guide people on safe conduct during celebrations.
This initiative is aimed at reducing confusion, improving crowd awareness, and ensuring that people have verified information directly from the police during peak celebration hours.
Strong focus on women’s safety
This year, women’s safety has been given special priority. The police have set up dedicated women help desks across major locations where large crowds are expected.
The help desks are located at the following 14 points:
1. Berry Circle
2. Church Street Metro Station
3. Burton Centre, MG Road
4. SBI Circle Traffic Park
5. Near UB City
6. Near GPO, Museum Road
7. Brigade Road RHP Junction
8. Kaveri Emporium Junction
9. Near Moto Royal Arcade
10. Inside Opera House
11. War Memorial
12. Opera Circle
13. Garuda Mall Junction
14. In front of the Fire Station
Each help desk will have trained personnel to assist women facing any difficulty during the celebrations.
