Traffic restrictions kick in after 10 pm as police deploy massive security measures to curb drunk driving, illegal stunts and unsafe celebrations across the city.
To ensure public safety and maintain law and order during New Year celebrations, Bengaluru Police have announced extensive traffic and security restrictions across the city starting tonight. As part of the measures, 50 flyovers will be closed to vehicular movement after 10 pm.
Traffic restrictions will also be enforced on key corridors, including the Airport Road flyover and stretches along the NICE Road, where regulated movement will be in place to prevent overcrowding and accidents during late-night celebrations.

In a major enforcement drive, police will conduct drunk-and-drive checks at 166 locations across Bengaluru. The special operation is aimed at preventing alcohol-related accidents and discouraging dangerous behaviour on the roads.
Authorities have also intensified surveillance on wheeling and other risky stunts, which are commonly reported during New Year night. To strengthen monitoring, 92 sensitive locations have been identified where additional police personnel will be deployed.
Officials said strict action will be taken against anyone found driving under the influence of alcohol or engaging in illegal and dangerous activities. The city police have appealed to residents to cooperate, follow traffic advisories and celebrate the New Year responsibly.
