Actor Pranitha Subhash’s sharp post on X over roadblocks near the city centre and Koramangala has reignited debate on VIP culture and traffic disruptions in Bengaluru.

Actor Pranitha Subhash publicly expressed her frustration over traffic disruptions in Bengaluru, blaming VIP movement for major roadblocks affecting daily commuters. Taking to X, she said roads leading to the city centre and Koramangala were blocked due to the movement of a politician, causing widespread inconvenience.

Calling the situation unfair to ordinary citizens, Pranitha criticised VIP culture, stating that such practices create more problems than progress. In her post, she questioned why civilians are repeatedly made to suffer for the movement of politicians, adding that this mindset hinders the country’s growth rather than helping it.

Her remarks struck a chord with many social media users, several of whom shared their own experiences of being delayed by political convoys, security arrangements, and sudden traffic diversions. Many echoed her concern that routine life in Bengaluru is frequently disrupted without adequate public communication or planning.

Traffic congestion linked to VIP movement has long been a recurring issue in the city. Roads are often closed or diverted during political visits, official convoys, and events involving foreign dignitaries. These disruptions regularly affect office-goers, emergency services, students, and other daily commuters, prompting repeated public criticism.

However, reactions to Pranitha’s post were not uniform. While many supported her stand, some users argued that certain security measures and roadblocks are unavoidable, particularly during visits by foreign dignitaries. A few pointed out recent examples, including the German Chancellor’s visit to a corporate campus near Koramangala, where heightened security led to traffic restrictions.

Others questioned whether similar criticism is consistently raised during election campaigns or political tours, highlighting what they described as selective outrage depending on the situation.
