  • UPOR maps and drone imagery linked to e-Khata
  • 9 lakh final e-Khatas issued; 2,500 generated daily
  • Detailed digital records include ownership, photos, GPS, tax data

The new integrated e-Khata platform combines UPOR maps, drone imagery, GPS data and ownership details to create Bengaluru’s most accurate digital property record system yet.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has rolled out a major digital upgrade by integrating the Urban Property Ownership Records (UPOR) system with its e-Khata platform. This marks a significant step toward creating a unified, accurate and transparent digital property documentation network for Bengaluru.

Under this integration, UPOR property maps, developed over the last two years through detailed urban surveys, have been synced with high-resolution drone overview images and precise GPS coordinates. This combined dataset is now seamlessly embedded within the e-Khata system, strengthening the reliability of property records across the GBA limits.

Details available in the integrated e-Khata system

The upgraded e-Khata now provides a comprehensive set of property details, including:

• Complete list of all property owners
• Detailed property attributes
• Photograph of the property
• Photograph of the owner
• Exact GPS coordinates of the property
• Digital property map along with location imagery
• Property tax records and usage information
• BESCOM electricity meter number
• Document number proving ownership transfer

Officials have emphasised that accurate GPS tagging played a crucial role in matching UPOR maps with drone images. This process involved extensive verification and was one of the most technically challenging components of the initiative. Nearly 1 lakh integrated e-Khatas have already been generated, with continuous additions underway.

Rapid progress in e-Khata issuance

Within the GBA limits, around 9 lakh final e-Khatas have been issued so far. On average, the authority processes and releases nearly 2,500 e-Khatas every day. The current average waiting time for applicants has been reduced to approximately two days, reflecting streamlined digital operations and faster back-end verification.

The integration, made possible with the support of the Karnataka Revenue Department, is expected to greatly enhance transparency in property ownership, simplify documentation for citizens and reduce disputes related to mapping or boundaries.

With UPOR data, drone imagery and extensive digital property parameters now unified under one platform, the e-Khata system is set to become Bengaluru’s most dependable urban land record framework, supporting efficient governance and improving public trust in property documentation.
