Bengaluru South and North City Corporations call on RWAs, citizens and NGOs to share suggestions as preparations begin for the maiden budgets under the Greater Bengaluru Authority.

With preparations under way for the first-ever budgets of the five newly formed city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), the Bengaluru South City Corporation and Bengaluru North City Corporation have opened the door for public participation by inviting budget suggestions for the 2026-27 financial year.

In a press release, the two corporations said inputs are welcome from resident welfare associations (RWAs), individual citizens and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The move is aimed at shaping citizen-focused budgets at a time when the new urban governance structure is taking its first steps.

The corporations have identified key priority areas for the upcoming budget. These include infrastructure development, public health and safety, environmental protection, social welfare programmes, transparent governance, and projects that directly benefit citizens. Officials said constructive and practical suggestions in these sectors would play an important role in the overall development of the city.
