Two men’s PGs in Shettihalli and two women’s PGs shut for ignoring guidelines and operating without proper compliance

The Health Department has taken strict action against four paying guest (PG) accommodations operating under the North Bengaluru Municipal Corporation limits for violating prescribed guidelines and functioning without proper compliance.

Following inspections, officials sealed a total of four PGs located in Shettihalli, Attur, and Yelahanka 4th Phase, citing serious lapses in hygiene and regulatory norms.

In the Shettihalli area, two men’s PG accommodations were ordered to shut down. Officials said these PGs were not following mandatory guidelines, prompting the Health Department to take immediate action and seal the premises.

Apart from this, a women’s PG named Sharada Ladies PG, also located in Shettihalli, was sealed after officials found poor hygiene conditions in the kitchen. Authorities stated that lack of cleanliness in food preparation areas posed a risk to residents’ health, leading to the closure.

Another women’s PG, Sri Anjani Ladies PG, situated in Attur, Yelahanka 4th Phase, was also sealed during the inspection drive. Officials said this PG was operating without adhering to required norms and was found to be unauthorised.

With these actions, a total of four PG accommodations have been sealed under North jurisdiction.

Health Department officials have made it clear that this is not a one-time action. They warned that more stringent measures will be taken against PGs that are running illegally or failing to follow government guidelines.
