Bengaluru City Police have declared a high alert following the Delhi Red Fort area explosion, tightening security at metro stations, railway terminals, airports, and public spaces across the city.

Following the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, the Bengaluru City Police have declared a high alert across the city as a precautionary measure. Security has been intensified at all major public areas, including metro stations, railway terminals, airports, shopping malls, and key business hubs.

According to a press note from the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, police personnel have been instructed to maintain round-the-clock surveillance and monitor any suspicious activity. Barricades have been set up across key roads, and teams have been deployed to conduct comprehensive vehicle checks and pedestrian screening.

Metro and railway stations under tight watch

Security has been heightened across Namma Metro stations, where officers and dog squads are carrying out detailed inspections. Senior officials are supervising checks inside metro premises to ensure passenger safety. Commuters reported intensified frisking and bag checks since late last night.

At the KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, railway police are screening passengers and luggage using metal detectors and bomb detection units. The dog squad has been deployed to patrol platforms and station perimeters. Given that lakhs of commuters travel through railway stations daily, police have increased manpower to prevent any untoward incidents.

Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) units have been deployed around Majestic, one of the city’s busiest transport hubs. DCPs from all divisions have been instructed to conduct night patrols and random vehicle inspections. Police presence has been visibly strengthened at bus terminals, metro stations, and public squares.

The Bengaluru Police have urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel during checks. The public has been advised to immediately report any unusual or suspicious activity in their surroundings.
