Karnataka on high alert After Delhi blast: Tight security measures across Bengaluru

Following the deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, security has been tightened across India. Police in Ayodhya, Bengaluru, and Bihar have ramped up checks and surveillance at sensitive locations.

Following the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, which left several dead and injured, security agencies across India have been placed on high alert. Authorities have increased surveillance, deployed additional police personnel, and intensified checking at major public places, religious sites, and transport hubs.

In Ayodhya, the police have significantly strengthened security. Additional forces have been stationed around the temple complex, and officers are monitoring every movement to prevent any untoward incident. Similar high alert measures have been taken at iconic monuments including the Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar, along with all major airports and railway stations across the country.

The alert has also extended to Karnataka, particularly Bengaluru, where police have launched citywide inspections. Malls, hotels, lodges, railway stations, and bus terminals are under close watch. Police personnel have been instructed to maintain full alert, especially in crowded and high-traffic zones.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, speaking from Mysuru, said he had discussed the situation with the Bengaluru Police Commissioner and declared a statewide alert. “Security has been strengthened across the state, particularly at airports and railway stations,” he said, assuring the public of proactive monitoring.

The Bengaluru Police Commissioner has issued strict directions to all inspectors to conduct continuous patrolling, check lodges, and verify details of outsiders staying in their jurisdiction. Officers have also been told to question any suspicious individuals and report unusual activity immediately.

Meanwhile, in Bihar, where the second phase of Assembly elections is underway, the police have implemented stringent security measures in light of the Delhi blast. The state capital Patna and its border regions are under heavy surveillance, with strict checking of vehicles and individuals entering from neighboring states.
