Coastal districts may receive rainfall, while interior regions brace for colder nights in the coming days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a statewide weather alert, predicting a noticeable fall in temperatures across multiple districts of Karnataka over the next few days. The department noted that while most interior areas are expected to remain dry, the coastal belt is likely to witness light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

In Bengaluru, weather conditions are set to turn colder, with the IMD forecasting light rain on Sunday, along with chilly winds and dense early-morning fog that could reduce visibility for commuters. Residents have been advised to follow safety guidelines and avoid non-essential travel, especially during foggy hours.
The IMD has projected a sharp decline in minimum temperatures in several districts, including Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mandya, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga. These regions may experience significantly colder nights as temperatures continue to drop.
Along the coast, districts such as Mangaluru, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada are expected to receive light rainfall, with minimum temperatures ranging between 17°C and 19°C. Continuous rain in these regions may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas, officials warned.

For Bengaluru, the day’s maximum temperature is likely to hover around 28°C, while the minimum may settle near 17°C. The IMD noted that the combination of fog and cold winds could cause discomfort for early-morning travellers.
The weather department also indicated that the dip in temperatures will not be limited to Karnataka. Neighbouring states such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana may also experience similar cooling trends in the coming days.
