LEAP is designed to address the growing need for decentralized growth, tapping into emerging tech clusters across Karnataka. While Bengaluru continues to be a global tech hub, ranking in the top 10 worldwide in startup indices, the new programme seeks to replicate this success in cities such as Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubbali, Kalaburagi, and Shivamogga.

Supporting the startup lifecycle

The initiative will focus on building a sustainable innovation ecosystem by supporting the startup lifecycle— from nurturing entrepreneurial interest in schools to helping established startups access global markets. Key to its success will be addressing gaps in infrastructure, funding, mentorship, and overall ecosystem development.

IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge emphasized that LEAP is more than just an innovation push. It’s a step towards ensuring balanced economic growth across the state, making Karnataka a globally competitive technology leader. By leveraging the untapped potential of emerging cities, LEAP aims to drive equitable development and position the state as a diversified leader in the global tech space.
