The initiative, developed in collaboration with fragrance design studio Aerome, aims to create a more serene and emotionally resonant environment for travellers. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) officials said this is part of a broader strategy to humanize the travel experience and alleviate the anxiety often associated with airport navigation.

The scent debut comes on the heels of several other passenger-centric enhancements at Terminal 2, including lush indoor gardens and curated art installations. With the addition of Dancing Bamboo, BIAL joins a growing list of global airports embracing olfactory branding to boost ambience and customer satisfaction.

Globally, airports in Singapore, the U S, and Europe have introduced custom scents to positively influence traveller moods. Changi Airport’s ‘Changi Scent,’ for instance, reflects the garden identity of Singapore, while U S airports like San Luis Obispo use aroma to emulate spa-like calmness.

By adopting scent branding, Kempegowda Airport positions itself among progressive aviation hubs striving to redefine what it means to travel comfortably and memorably.
