The 219th Lalbagh Flower Show, held under the theme “Tejasvi–Vismaya” to mark Republic Day, witnessed massive public turnout and generated crores in revenue for the Horticulture Department.
The 219th edition of the Lalbagh Flower Show has concluded with a massive public response, reaffirming its status as one of Bengaluru’s most awaited annual events. Organised by the Horticulture Department to coincide with Republic Day celebrations, the flower show was held for 11 days and attracted visitors in large numbers from across the city and beyond.
Held under the theme “Tejasvi-Vismaya”, the show recorded a total footfall of 8,10,973 visitors during its 11-day run. The event generated a total revenue of ₹2,74,77,088, making it a financially successful edition. Of this, ₹2,46,27,088 was collected through ticket sales alone, while ₹28.50 lakh came from stalls and other sources within the premises.
The flower show began on January 15, 2026, and saw a steady rise in visitor numbers as Republic Day approached. On the opening day, 32,950 people visited Lalbagh, generating ₹21.56 lakh in revenue. Footfall remained strong over the following days, with weekends and holidays drawing larger crowds.

On January 17, the show saw 48,721 visitors, while January 18 recorded 56,496 visitors with collections touching ₹31.40 lakh. Attendance dipped slightly on January 19 and 20, but rose again mid-week. On January 22, a total of 57,483 people visited the venue.
The crowd size increased sharply towards the end of the event. January 23 saw 71,490 visitors, followed by 94,688 visitors on January 24. The highest turnout was recorded on Republic Day, January 26, when 1,89,155 people visited Lalbagh in a single day, generating a revenue of ₹65,01,198. The previous day, January 25, had already seen a strong turnout of 1,14,626 visitors.
Visitors included adults, children and a large number of students, indicating the show’s broad appeal across age groups. The strong response highlights Lalbagh’s continued importance as a cultural, educational and recreational space in Bengaluru.
Officials from the Horticulture Department expressed satisfaction over both the footfall and revenue, noting that the show successfully combined public engagement with financial sustainability.
