Bengaluru police seized drugs worth over Rs 12 crore in a citywide crackdown, arresting multiple interstate peddlers across three locations
In a major blow to narcotics networks, the Bengaluru City Police executed a series of coordinated raids, seizing drugs valued at over Rs 12 crore. The citywide crackdown led to the arrest of multiple suspected peddlers and the initiation of strict legal action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The largest bust was carried out by the Narcotics Control Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bagalur. Officers arrested two interstate suspects, identified as Ashwin and Mubeena, who originally hail from Kerala. Operating out of a rented apartment, the duo was allegedly part of a sophisticated distribution ring taking orders from a Kerala native currently based in Thailand. Police recovered a massive haul from the suspects, including 8,335 LSD strips, 5 kg of hydro ganja, and 534 grams of charas, collectively valued at approximately Rs 11.50 crore.
In a separate operation targeting the tech corridor, Whitefield police arrested 24-year-old Lingraj Das, a painter from Odisha. Das was caught with 27.2 kg of ganja and 3.2 kg of hashish oil, estimated to be worth Rs 55 lakh. Investigators revealed that he was allegedly targeting professionals, including IT and BT employees, to make quick profits.

Meanwhile, officers from the K.G. Nagar police station intercepted a highly sophisticated smuggling attempt. Based on credible intelligence, they seized 1.5 kg of hydro ganja, valued at around Rs 1.5 crore, which had been shipped via an international parcel service. The contraband was cleverly concealed inside chocolate and biscuit boxes to evade detection.
Alongside the drug busts, authorities also took action against immigration violations. Police detained two foreign national women in the Mico Layout area for overstaying their visas, handing them over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office for deportation procedures. The city police emphasized that relentless operations against both the illegal drug trade and visa violations will continue across Bengaluru.
