Under Karnataka’s latest urban infrastructure scheme, Mahadevapura has secured the highest grant of ₹188.5 crore for road and ward-level works, while Anekal receives just ₹2 crore. The ₹1,055 crore plan aims to upgrade Bengaluru’s roads, drains, and civic infrastructure.
The Karnataka government has sanctioned a massive ₹1,055 crore for development and infrastructure works under the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Development Scheme for Bengaluru. The funds will be used across five municipal areas under the Greater Bengaluru Authority, targeting road, drainage, and civic upgrades.
Mahadevapura constituency has received the highest allocation, ₹188.5 crore, including ₹138.5 crore for road asphalting and ₹25 crore for ward-level works. In sharp contrast, Anekal has been allotted just ₹2 crore for road development, the lowest in the city.

According to the official order, ₹900 crore of the total fund is earmarked for ward-level projects, including road maintenance, drain works, and civic infrastructure. The remaining amount will be used for broader city-level improvement projects.
The Cabinet has mandated that all projects will be funded through the 2025-26 state budget, and tendered under the KTTP Act, 1999, and Rules 2000 via the KPIPP portal to ensure financial transparency. Only technically and financially cleared projects will move forward after official approval.
An official said the initiative aims to create durable public assets, improve transport connectivity to global standards, and ensure quality construction. The GBA Chief Commissioner will oversee execution, while monthly progress reviews will be held by an empowered committee. Any project modifications will require ministerial approval.
