Tragic accident in Bengaluru: Speeding ambulance rams into bikes, couple killed on the spot

A speeding empty ambulance rammed into three bikes at the Shantinagar Double Road signal, killing a couple instantly and leaving one more rider critically injured.

A horrifying road accident occurred in Bengaluru’s Shantinagar Double Road area near the Sangeetha Signal, where a speeding empty ambulance lost control and rammed into three stationary bikes waiting at the red signal. The crash claimed the lives of a husband and wife on the spot, throwing the locality into shock.

The victims have been identified as Ismail and his wife Sameen Banu, residents of Bengaluru. According to eyewitnesses, the couple had stopped at the signal when the ambulance, coming at high speed from Richmond Circle, crashed from behind, hitting multiple bikes and dragging them for several metres.

The impact was so severe that both Ismail and Sameen Banu died instantly at the scene. Another motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to NIMHANS Hospital for treatment. Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating whether negligent or reckless driving led to the accident.

Preliminary reports confirm that the ambulance was not carrying any patient at the time of the crash. The driver reportedly fled the scene soon after the accident. Police teams from Shantinagar Traffic Station are verifying CCTV footage from nearby junctions to trace the vehicle and driver.
