B-SMILE takes up white-topping between Majestic and Mantri Mall, forcing traffic diversions and longer travel times for commuters
Commuters travelling between Majestic and Malleshwaram are set to face prolonged inconvenience as the key road connecting Majestic to Mantri Mall has been closed for three months due to white-topping works.
The Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Limited (B-SMILE) has taken up white-topping of the stretch between Majestic and Mantri Mall, resulting in a complete road closure for the duration of the project. Authorities have confirmed that the work will continue for the next three months.
Due to the closure, vehicles coming from Majestic have been diverted through the Okalipuram underpass and Sujatha Circle to enter Malleshwaram. This diversion has led to a significant rise in traffic congestion around the Majestic area, especially during peak hours.

Earlier, commuters could reach Malleshwaram from Majestic via Mantri Mall within just 10 minutes. However, with the road shut, travel time has increased sharply. During peak traffic hours, motorists are now taking a minimum of 30 minutes, and in some cases up to an hour, to reach Malleshwaram.
Daily commuters and vehicle users have expressed frustration over the increased travel time and congestion, particularly around Majestic and the diversion routes. Traffic police have been deployed in the surrounding areas to manage vehicle flow, but congestion continues to remain a concern.
