The shocking incident took place in MR Nagar under Audugodi Police limits when the woman was alone at home; the accused was allegedly under the influence of drugs.
Bengaluru police have arrested a man identified as Vignesh for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a specially-abled young woman at her residence in MR Nagar under the Audugodi Police limits. The incident occurred on November 9, when the victim’s family had gone out to attend a wedding, leaving her alone at home.
According to police sources, the accused, who was reportedly under the influence of marijuana, broke open the house latch and entered the premises. The woman, who is unable to speak or walk properly, was found partially unclothed when her mother returned.

The victim’s mother immediately raised an alarm upon spotting the accused hiding near the door. Hearing her cries, local residents rushed to the spot, caught Vignesh, and thrashed him before handing him over to the Audugodi Police.
Police have booked the accused under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual harassment and assault-related offences. He has been taken into police custody, and a detailed investigation into the case is currently underway.
