MapmyIndia's Mappls app introduces AI-powered traffic signal timers in Bengaluru

MapmyIndia has launched a set of groundbreaking features on its flagship Mappls app, making it the first navigation app in India to offer AI-powered live traffic signal timers. This new functionality, developed in collaboration with the Bengaluru Traffic Police and Arcadis, is now available for iOS users, with Android support coming soon. The addition aims to enhance the commuting experience by providing real-time updates on traffic signal status, improving travel efficiency.

 Two other innovative features

Alongside the traffic signal timers, the app introduces two other innovative features—NHAI Annual Toll Pass Savings and Toll Road Distance Travelled. These features, developed in partnership with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), allow users to track their toll road usage and take advantage of cost-saving opportunities on annual toll passes.

This launch marks a significant step toward transforming everyday drives into smarter, safer, and more economical experiences. The initiative is part of MapmyIndia’s broader mission to create a more efficient and user-friendly navigation ecosystem for Indian commuters. In the future, these advanced features will expand beyond Bengaluru to other cities across India.
