After multiple drug factory busts and interstate seizures, Bengaluru Police launch a citywide anti-drug campaign with special drives, arrests, and strict monitoring.
Bengaluru has been placed on high alert as city police intensified their crackdown on drug networks following the detection of multiple drug manufacturing units and large interstate seizures. The citywide anti-drug campaign and special enforcement drive is being carried out under the direct supervision of Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.
The intensified action follows a series of alarming developments, including raids by Maharashtra Police in Karnataka, which led to the seizure of drugs worth several crores of rupees. Within Bengaluru, drug factories were uncovered in Avalahalli, Kothanur, and Bagalur police station limits, exposing the presence of organised manufacturing and distribution networks. The accused were reportedly using raw chemical materials to prepare synthetic narcotics.
In the aftermath of these revelations, three police inspectors were suspended for lapses linked to these cases. With the Chief Minister and Home Minister expressing strong displeasure, senior police officials were directed to take firm action, leading to a massive citywide enforcement operation.

Between January 1 and February 7, Bengaluru Police seized narcotic substances worth ₹8.19 crore, including ganja, hydro-ganja, and synthetic drugs, within a span of just 37 days. Special teams from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) Anti-Narcotics Wing and various local divisions were deployed to conduct targeted raids and surveillance operations.
Authorities conducted extensive inspections at chemical factories, godowns, medical stores, commercial shops, courier services, and travel agencies to prevent the misuse of raw materials used in drug production. Special focus was placed on tracking the supply chain of chemical inputs to stop illegal manufacturing at the source.
During the past month alone, police verified 572 known drug peddlers, registered 109 cases against traffickers, and arrested 179 accused involved in drug distribution. Additionally, 839 cases were booked against drug consumers, resulting in the arrest of 1,038 individuals across the city.
