Namma Metro Yellow Line now starts 5:00 am on Mondays with early trains, easing commuter delays; more trains soon to boost frequency

Commuters on the Namma Metro Yellow Line (R.V. Road–Bommasandra) can expect smoother travel on Mondays, with services now starting at 5:00 am. Two early trains at 5:05 am and 5:35 am have been introduced to ease delays for passengers transferring from the Green Line at R.V. Road.

Previously, Yellow Line trains began at 6:00 am on weekdays, leaving office goers—especially those heading to Electronics City and Bommasandra—waiting nearly half an hour after arriving on early Green Line services. The issue escalated recently when frustrated passengers staged a protest at R.V. Road, obstructing train movement and delaying services across the corridor.

Responding to the disruption and repeated complaints, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) revised the schedule. Officials have cautioned that obstructing metro operations is punishable under the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002, with penalties including fines and imprisonment.
To further improve reliability, BMRCL is expanding the Yellow Line fleet. A sixth train set is expected next month, reducing intervals to about 12–13 minutes. Two more sets will arrive by December, bringing the total to eight.

Passengers are advised to check station displays and official announcements for updated timings as adjustments continue.
