BMRCL confirms new train to reduce wait times and ease commuter rush on Bangalore’s busiest metro corridor.
Bangalore commuters on the Namma Metro Yellow Line have a reason to celebrate. Responding to repeated passenger requests, the fourth train is set to join the line’s existing fleet this week, BMRCL officials confirmed.

Currently operating three trains, the Yellow Line experiences peak-hour wait times of about 25 minutes. With the new train, waits are expected to drop to around 15 minutes, significantly easing rush-hour congestion.
“The fourth train will be introduced for passenger services this week, following the necessary testing required for its commissioning,” said Yashwant Chavan, BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer.

Officials added that additional trains will be deployed as more trainsets are delivered and properly tested. The exact impact will be assessed after the train enters service.
