A new 1.4-km flyover from Esteem Mall to Manyata Tech Park is being planned to tackle chronic congestion around Hebbal, with BDA and GBA working to fast-track approvals.
In a fresh attempt to address one of Bengaluru’s most congested corridors, a proposal for a 1.4-km elevated flyover between Esteem Mall on Ballari Road and Manyata Tech Park has been moved into active discussion. The plan, taken up by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), is expected to play a major role in managing the persistent traffic gridlocks seen in and around the Hebbal junction.
According to early project details, the flyover is being designed with the intention of creating smoother, uninterrupted movement for vehicles approaching the tech park and the surrounding commercial zones. The stretch currently experiences heavy bottlenecks throughout the day, and agencies believe that an elevated connector will help achieve near zero-halt traffic in the area.

Meetings between officers of the BDA and the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) are underway to finalise technical and coordination aspects. The BDA is also holding parallel consultations with other relevant departments to ensure the project aligns with ongoing road and mobility works across the northern parts of the city.
The 1.4-km structure is expected to be taken up directly by the BDA, which is working to bring the proposal to execution stage at the earliest. Internal assessments, feasibility inputs, and alignment details are being consolidated to prepare the final project outline. Once the inter-departmental processes are completed, the plan will move to its next stage for approval and tendering.

Officials involved in the discussions have indicated that priority is being placed on fast-tracking the implementation to ease pressure on Hebbal’s heavily burdened road network, one of the busiest gateways into Bengaluru.
