In a major boost for JP Nagar, Hosakerehalli and Nagarbhavi residents, BMRCL has officially invited civil tenders for Phase 3 of Namma Metro’s Orange Line.
Residents of JP Nagar, Hosakerehalli and Nagarbhavi have reason to cheer as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has taken a key step towards expanding the Orange Line under Namma Metro’s Phase 3 project. BMRCL has officially invited civil construction tenders for the stretch connecting JP Nagar 4th Phase to Nagarbhavi.
As per the official announcement, contractors can submit their tenders between February 20 and February 25. The civil works have been divided into three separate packages, with BMRCL allocating an independent budget for each package to ensure smooth execution of the project.

Package 1 covers the stretch from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kamakya Junction. This package includes the removal of the Dollars Colony flyover and construction of a double-decker metro corridor. A total of four stations are planned along this section: JP Nagar 5th Phase, JP Nagar, Kadirenahalli and Kamakya Junction. The estimated cost for this package is ₹1,375 crore.

Package 2 focuses on the corridor from Hosakerehalli to Nagarbhavi Circle. This section will also feature a double-decker structure and will have four stations: Hosakerehalli, Dwarakanagar, Mysuru Road and Nagarbhavi Circle. The total budget allocated for this package stands at ₹1,396 crore.

Package 3 is divided into two corridors. Corridor 1 runs from Vinayaka Layout to Nagarbhavi BDA Complex, with three stations planned at Vinayaka Layout, Papireddipalya and Nagarbhavi BDA Complex. Corridor 2 includes the Sunkadakatte station, along with the entry and exit routes to the Sunkadakatte depot. The combined cost for Package 3 is estimated at ₹1,415 crore.
With the tender process now underway, this announcement marks a significant milestone in improving metro connectivity in western and southern parts of Bengaluru.
