Bengaluru Police widen investigation as CCTV footage reveals the escape route of the gang that robbed a CMS cash van, threatening staff and fleeing with ₹7 crore.

The investigation into the ₹7 crore daylight robbery in Jayanagar has intensified, with Bengaluru Police now piecing together the escape route of the gang that intercepted a CMS ATM cash van near Ashoka Pillar. The group of seven to eight armed robbers threatened the gunman and staff before forcing them to comply.

The gang first blocked the van using an Innova, claiming to be Central Tax officials, demanded invoices, and insisted the cash be loaded into their vehicle. They then drove the CMS staff to Dairy Circle, where they dropped them off and fled with the money.

CCTV footage shows the Innova moving through Domlur, Indiranagar, Old Madras Road and NGV Junction, with another clip capturing the vehicle heading towards Hosur Road. Police believe the van was trailed for some time before the ambush.

The Bengaluru Police Commissioner is personally reviewing footage from across the city. Multiple teams from Siddapura and Adugodi police stations have inspected the scene inch by inch, supported by the dog squad.

To check for insider leaks, police have seized the mobile phones of the driver, gunman and other CMS staff. Officers are also questioning HDFC Bank employees to verify whether route or cash details were leaked.

All traffic and law & order units have been alerted with the Innova’s colour, number and movement pattern, as the manhunt widens across Bengaluru. The robbery, executed in a “film-style chase,” has become one of the city's most closely watched investigations.
