Purple Line operations partially halted as a man jumped onto the tracks at Kengeri, forcing Namma Metro to short-terminate trains at Mysuru Road.
Operations on the Purple Line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro were partially suspended on Friday following a suicide attempt at Kengeri metro station. The incident involved a man who jumped onto the tracks, prompting an immediate halt to train movement in the affected section.

Following the emergency, trains on the Purple Line were short-terminated at Mysuru Road station. Services between Mysuru Road and Challaghatta were temporarily stopped to ensure safety and allow authorities to clear the tracks. Commuters travelling beyond Mysuru Road faced delays and were advised to make alternative arrangements.
Namma Metro, in an update posted on X, confirmed that operations had been disrupted due to the incident and that the suspension was limited to the Mysuru Road-Challaghatta stretch. The network expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers.

The rest of the Purple Line continued running as usual while the affected section remained closed for inspection and clearance. Officials worked on restoring normal operations at the earliest.
