Hidden recording at Koramangala sports event, repeated threats, and money demand push top reality show contestant to seek legal action.
Bengaluru witnessed a disturbing cybercrime incident after a young woman, who had participated in a popular private television reality show, was allegedly blackmailed using secretly recorded washroom videos. The case came to light after the victim lodged a formal complaint at the City Cyber Crime Police Station.
The incident reportedly occurred during a sports event held in Koramangala, where the reality show star was present as a participant. While she visited the washroom at the venue, an unidentified man allegedly recorded her secretly and also clicked photographs without her knowledge or consent.
Instead of directly contacting the victim, the accused sent the videos and images to the Instagram account of one of her close friends. Through messages and repeated video calls, he demanded money, threatening to upload the visuals on social media platforms if his demands were not met.

According to the complaint, the accused made three to four video calls and sent four to five video clips, causing severe mental distress. The continuous harassment and threats deeply affected the young woman, who had reached the top-five stage of the reality show.
Unable to tolerate the blackmail and psychological pressure, the victim approached the cyber police with evidence, including the videos, photos, and message records sent by the accused. Based on her complaint, a case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway.
Police officials have launched a search operation to identify and arrest the accused. They are tracing the digital footprint, including IP addresses and social media accounts, to track him down.
