Kempegowda International Airport issues travel advisory citing increased passenger volume and tighter security checks ahead of January 26.
Ahead of Republic Day on January 26, the operator of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has issued a travel advisory requesting passengers to plan their airport journeys well in advance. The advisory comes in view of enhanced security arrangements and an expected surge in passenger traffic during the long weekend.
According to the airport operator, Republic Day celebrations involve stricter security protocols at airports across the country. As a result, passengers travelling through KIA may experience longer waiting times at entry points, check-in counters, and security screening areas. To avoid last-minute delays and the risk of missing flights, travellers have been advised to allocate additional time for airport procedures.
The advisory also highlights that passenger numbers are likely to rise significantly during the Republic Day long weekend, with many people travelling for holidays and family visits. This increase in footfall, combined with intensified security checks, could lead to congestion during peak hours.
In its message, the airport operator stated that passengers should carefully plan their travel schedules and arrive early to ensure a smooth journey. Travellers have also been asked to contact their respective airlines directly for flight-related updates, including check-in timings and boarding details.
Kempegowda International Airport has sought the cooperation of passengers, stating that these measures are necessary to ensure safety and security during the national celebrations. Authorities have reassured travellers that all arrangements are being made to manage the rush efficiently while maintaining strict security standards.
Passengers flying in or out of Bengaluru around January 26 are therefore advised to stay informed, plan ahead, and be prepared for additional checks as part of Republic Day security protocols.
