Road rage on Mahadevapura Main Road: Delivery boy assaulted, bikers thrashed by locals

January 4 night incident caught on CCTV; police register case and detain those involved for questioning

A violent road rage incident on Mahadevapura Main Road in Bengaluru left a delivery executive injured after he was brutally assaulted by bike riders, triggering chaos on the busy stretch. The incident took place around 8 pm on January 4 and was fully captured on CCTV cameras in the area.

According to the sequence of events, the delivery executive allegedly came in the way of two bike riders who were travelling on the main road. The sudden obstruction caused the riders to lose control and fall off their motorcycle. Enraged by the fall, the bikers allegedly turned violent and launched a vicious attack on the delivery boy.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers kicked the delivery executive and assaulted him using a helmet, showing no restraint despite the public setting. The assault continued for several moments before local residents rushed to the spot after noticing the commotion.

Locals initially tried to calm down the bike riders, but when the attackers refused to stop and continued behaving aggressively, the situation escalated. This led to locals turning against the bikers and assaulting them in retaliation. Faced with public anger, the youths on the bike fled the spot.

Police confirmed that the incident occurred under the Mahadevapura police station limits, while a case related to the incident has been registered at the Baiyappanahalli police station. As part of the investigation, the delivery executive and other individuals involved have been taken into custody for questioning.

Police are examining CCTV footage and recording statements to establish the exact sequence of events and fix responsibility.
