The new GCC is expected to serve as a critical pillar for the company’s worldwide operations by leveraging Bengaluru’s pool of highly skilled engineers and technology professionals. It will focus on advanced research, innovation, and support functions that span Rolls-Royce’s global businesses, reinforcing India’s role in powering the aerospace giant’s international ecosystem.

The launch also underscores Karnataka’s rising prominence in aerospace and defence manufacturing. The state already hosts a cluster of leading domestic and multinational players across the value chain, from propulsion and power systems to structural engineering and niche technologies. Supported by the Karnataka Aerospace & Defence Policy, which offers attractive incentives and a strong research base, the state has become a magnet for foreign direct investment in high-technology sectors.

Ecosystem of research institutions, start-ups, and global companies

With a thriving ecosystem of research institutions, start-ups, and global companies, Bengaluru now stands among the world’s foremost aerospace cities. The new Rolls-Royce facility is expected to drive innovation, create high-value jobs, and contribute to cutting-edge solutions for global markets.

British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron and Rolls-Royce Global CFO Helen McCabe also attended the inauguration ceremony.
