Sandalwood fan war escalates: Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi files police complaint over obscene online abuse

Vijayalakshmi approaches Bengaluru police, naming 15 Instagram IDs and over 150 obscene comments allegedly linked to fan rivalry, seeking strict legal action.

The ongoing fan rivalry within Sandalwood has taken a serious turn, with Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi approaching the police over obscene and abusive comments posted against her on social media. The complaint highlights how fan wars have crossed limits and entered the realm of online harassment and criminal abuse.

According to the complaint, Vijayalakshmi has submitted evidence against 15 Instagram accounts that allegedly posted more than 150 obscene and derogatory comments targeting her. The comments reportedly surfaced amid fan clashes, with many of the abusive posts being made using the name of actor Sudeep’s fan groups.

Vijayalakshmi formally lodged her complaint with the Bengaluru police and met CCB Joint Commissioner Ajay Hilori, submitting screenshots and other digital evidence. She also appeared at the police station along with witnesses and urged authorities to initiate strict disciplinary and legal action against those responsible.

The complaint stresses that the comments were not limited to criticism but included vulgar language and personal attacks, prompting her to seek police intervention. Officials are now expected to examine the social media accounts involved and trace the individuals behind them.

This incident comes close on the heels of a similar action taken by actor Ramya, who had earlier filed complaints against individuals posting obscene content online. In that case, police action reportedly led to the arrest and detention of several offenders. Following those arrests, some individuals allegedly displayed defiant behaviour on social media, prompting police to warn of tougher action.
