Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced the addition of a sixth train on the Yellow Line starting December 23, aimed at improving service frequency and commuter convenience. The update was officially confirmed by BMRCL.
At present, the Yellow Line is operating with five trains. From Dec 23, one more train will be inducted into service, taking the total number of operational trains on the corridor to six.

With the addition of the sixth train, the gap between consecutive metro services will reduce from the existing 15 minutes to 13 minutes. This improved frequency will be applicable from Monday to Saturday, offering quicker connections and reduced waiting time for daily commuters.
However, on Sundays, the train frequency will remain unchanged, with services continuing at a 15-minute interval, as per the current schedule.
BMRCL has clarified that there will be no changes to the first and last train timings on the Yellow Line. Only the frequency between services during operational hours will be adjusted following the introduction of the additional train.
