Taking to social media, Shivakumar stated, “This is not my property; it’s a project for the people. Let the BJP stop its criticism and tell me what their solution is.” His remark came as the opposition party launched a signature campaign against the ambitious project, questioning its feasibility and environmental impact.

The Deputy CM defended the project as a crucial step toward solving Bengaluru’s worsening traffic congestion, saying it was conceived “for the city’s future.” He asserted that while criticism is easy, constructive suggestions are what the government needs from the opposition.
In a sharp counter, Shivakumar added, “If they can hold a signature campaign, I can do the same, and organize a bigger one. I know how to mobilize people better than them.”
The proposed tunnel road project has sparked political debate, with the BJP accusing the government of pushing it without adequate consultation. However, Shivakumar maintained that the initiative reflects a long-term urban development vision and will help ease traffic for lakhs of commuters.
