Tragic gas geyser leak claims young mother and daughter in Bengaluru

A heartbreaking incident shook Panchasheela Nagar in Govindarajanagar after a 26-year-old woman and her four-year-old daughter lost their lives due to a gas geyser leak inside their bathroom. The victims have been identified as Chandini and her daughter Yuvi, whose routine afternoon bath ended in a fatal tragedy.

According to initial reports, Chandini and her daughter entered the bathroom at midday to bathe. Moments later, gas from the geyser began leaking, causing both of them to lose consciousness. With her husband Kiran, a carpenter, away at work, there was no one at home to notice the danger unfolding.

Family members and neighbours rushed them to Victoria Hospital as soon as they were found unresponsive. Despite immediate medical attention, doctors declared both dead, confirming that they could not be revived.

Kiran, who returned home to the devastating news, is reportedly inconsolable after losing both his wife and young child in the same accident. The couple, described as living a simple and peaceful life, had no indication that the household gas geyser could turn deadly.

How the accident happened

•    Chandini and Yuvi went for an afternoon bath.
•    Gas began leaking from the geyser inside the closed bathroom.
•    Both became unconscious due to inhalation.
•    They were rushed to the hospital immediately.
•    Treatment at Victoria Hospital failed to save them.

Renewed concern over gas geysers

The incident once again brings attention to the risks of using gas geysers in closed bathrooms without ventilation. Authorities and safety experts have repeatedly warned that gas geysers can produce harmful fumes that turn fatal when inhaled in enclosed spaces.
