Uber expands Intercity Motorhomes service to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune

Uber is set to broaden its Intercity Motorhomes offering to three new cities—Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune—starting from October 15, 2025. This comes after a highly successful pilot in Delhi NCR. Bookings for the service will open on October 13, allowing riders in these cities to reserve the custom-designed motorhomes for their outstation road trips. The service will continue to operate in Delhi NCR until December 31, 2025.

Rising Demand for Comfortable Road Travel

Launched in August 2025, the Intercity Motorhomes initiative has garnered significant attention for offering a unique, comfort-first travel experience for long-distance journeys. The service, which features luxury caravan-style motorhomes, was initially piloted in Delhi NCR during the monsoon season. The pilot saw 100% occupancy rates, with high demand and inquiries flooding in from other cities. Uber’s decision to extend and expand the program reflects the growing preference for flexible and premium travel options across India.

Comfortable and Private Travel Experience

Each Intercity Motorhome is equipped with modern amenities such as a television, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and a lavatory, ensuring a private and luxurious travel experience for up to five passengers. The motorhomes are also staffed with a driver and a helper to assist passengers throughout their journey. Travelers can book their trips in advance through Uber's Reserve feature, which also allows for adding stops along the way, tracking rides in real-time, and accessing 24x7 live support. Given the high demand, bookings for the motorhomes require at least 48 hours' notice.

The October to December period is a prime time for outstation travel in India, with the holiday season and festive celebrations driving demand for comfortable and reliable transportation.
