Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad, women’s cricket stalwart Shanta Rangaswamy and former Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya have unveiled their election manifesto under the banner “Revival of KSCA,” setting the stage for a high-stakes contest later this year. The elections are expected between late September and November, following months of administrative uncertainty within the association.

Restoring the lost glory of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium
Central to their vision is restoring the lost glory of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as a premier international venue. The manifesto highlights the need for a detailed safety audit, digital ticketing, advanced crowd management and modern fan facilities as part of the roadmap to transform the stadium into a world-class cricket hub.
The group has pledged tributes to Karnataka’s cricketing greats, with plans to name stadium ends after Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid, while dedicating stands to Shanta Rangaswamy and veteran administrator C. Nagaraj. A proposed cricket museum, inspired by Lord’s, aims to showcase Karnataka’s rich cricketing legacy through interactive displays and digital archives.
On the competitive front, the manifesto includes reviving traditional tournaments, ensuring timely age-group competitions, introducing reciprocal overseas tours, and providing recognition and benefits for former players. Women’s cricket also features prominently, with structured leagues, inter-school and inter-college tournaments, and an elevated Maharani T20 planned to expand opportunities for young female cricketers.
