Woman found dead in swimming pool at Kanakapura farmhouse, husband detained on murder suspicion

A 29-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a farmhouse swimming pool in Ramanagara district; her husband has been taken into custody following allegations from the victim’s family.

Ramanagara district witnessed a shocking incident after the body of a young woman was found under suspicious circumstances in a swimming pool at a farmhouse in Kanakapura taluk.

The incident occurred at a garden house located on the outskirts of Bettegowdanapalya village in Kodihalli Hobli. The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Prathibha. According to sources, Prathibha and her family had been staying at the farmhouse for the past few days before the incident came to light.

The discovery of the body triggered serious allegations from the woman’s family members, who have directly accused her husband, Babu, of murdering her. Prathibha’s parents alleged that Babu killed their daughter and later dumped her body into the swimming pool in an attempt to destroy evidence.

It has been revealed that Prathibha was Babu’s second wife, and the couple has two children. Family members have claimed that Prathibha faced issues within the marriage, though police are yet to officially confirm the motive behind the incident.

Soon after receiving information, Kodihalli police rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s parents, the police have taken husband Babu into custody and are questioning him intensively.

Investigators are currently examining whether the death was the result of a domestic dispute leading to murder or if Prathibha accidentally fell into the swimming pool, resulting in her death. Officials have stated that the exact cause will be determined only after the post-mortem report is received.

A case has been registered at the Kodihalli police station, and further investigation is ongoing to establish the sequence of events and fix responsibility in the case.
