A Bengaluru woman’s sarcastic video measuring potholes on Varthur Road has gone viral, exposing the terrifying condition of the stretch connecting Whitefield and Sarjapur, dubbed more dangerous than Bolivia’s ‘Death Road.’
In a viral video that has struck a chord with thousands of Bengalureans, a woman has taken to social media to highlight the pathetic state of Varthur Road, which connects Whitefield and Sarjapur. With biting sarcasm, she compares the city’s cratered road to Bolivia’s infamous “Death Road” and the treacherous Khardung La Pass, claiming Bengaluru has its own version right here in the tech corridor.

Armed with a measuring tape, the woman goes a step beyond a typical rant, she physically measures the size of the potholes. One gaping crater measures 56 inches wide and 117 inches long. “If you have a death wish or enjoy off-roading, this road is for you,” she says mockingly, pointing out how even the most basic civic amenities like streetlights are missing along the stretch.
She highlights that several schoolchildren travel through this road daily, and tech parks and gated communities are mushrooming around the area, putting even more pressure on its broken infrastructure. She further adds that the situation worsens drastically during rain, turning the stretch into an accident hotspot.
