  • Yelahanka flyover deadline set for September
  • 70% work completed, night work underway
  • Hennur-Bagalur Road to open in 15 days

During a field inspection in Bengaluru North, GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao reviewed progress of the Yelahanka flyover and key road works.

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to complete the long-pending Yelahanka flyover project by the end of September. The instruction was issued during his inspection of multiple infrastructure projects within the Bengaluru North City Corporation limits on Saturday.

The flyover, located on Doddaballapur Main Road, stretches across 2 kilometres and has currently achieved around 70 per cent completion. Rao reviewed the status of the work on-site and asked officials and contractors to strictly adhere to the revised timeline.

Providing details of the progress, officials informed that the flyover requires 56 pillars, of which 51 have already been constructed. In addition, out of a total 447 segments, 351 segments have been erected, while 96 segments are still pending.

Due to continuous traffic flow on the busy stretch, the erection of segments is being carried out only during night hours. Acknowledging this challenge, Rao instructed the engineering teams to resolve all operational issues, speed up execution, and ensure that work continues without further delays.

Apart from the flyover, Rao also reviewed the Hennur-Bagalur Road white-topping project. He said that the road work is expected to be completed and opened to the public within the next 15 days.

On the 5-kilometre stretch, white-topping has already been completed on 4 kilometres on one side of the road. The remaining 1 kilometre on the same side will be finished within 15 days, officials said. However, work on the other side of the road has not yet begun.
