Bengaluru East Corporation orders completion of Yemalur-ORR junction roadworks by March 15 under CMIDP facelift plan
The Bengaluru East City Corporation has stepped up its focus on improving road infrastructure in the Mahadevapura Assembly constituency, with a comprehensive review of ongoing roadworks signalling a significant facelift for the Yemalur–Outer Ring Road junction stretch.
Corporation Commissioner D.S. Ramesh recently conducted an on-site inspection of road development works across the constituency, with particular attention to the 1.8-kilometre stretch connecting Yemalur Junction to the Outer Ring Road. The corridor, developed under the Chief Minister's Infrastructure Development Programme (CMIDP), is currently witnessing active de-silting and milling operations as part of groundwork ahead of the planned upgrade.
During the review, the Commissioner assessed the pace and quality of ongoing works and issued firm directives to contractors to ensure the remaining work is completed by March 15. Officials were also instructed to uphold strict quality standards throughout execution, underscoring the corporation's intent to deliver durable and well-finished road infrastructure rather than short-term patchwork solutions.

The Yemalur-ORR junction is a key urban node, connecting residential and commercial zones in east Bengaluru with the wider Outer Ring Road corridor — one of the city's busiest arteries. The planned improvements are expected to ease movement at the junction and improve daily commuting conditions for thousands of residents and workers who depend on this stretch.
The review of roadworks in Mahadevapura aligns with broader infrastructure momentum building across the ORR corridor. The Karnataka government has separately approved a Rs 450-crore overhaul of the 17-km ORR stretch between Silk Board Junction and KR Puram metro station, featuring bus priority lanes, improved footpaths, and cycle tracks.
With the March 15 deadline in place and civic authorities monitoring progress closely, residents and commuters are hopeful that the long-pending improvements at the Yemalur-ORR junction will translate into tangible relief from traffic bottlenecks and deteriorating road conditions in the area.
