Metro-side access moved temporarily; ticket counters relocated, SWR assures passenger assistance

Passengers using Yeshwantpur Railway Station in Bengaluru will need to follow revised access arrangements as redevelopment work continues at the busy terminal. The South Western Railway (SWR) has temporarily shifted the entry point from the metro side to ensure safety and smooth movement of travellers.

According to SWR officials, access from the metro side has now been moved approximately 150 metres towards the main road, close to Platform Number 6. This change has been made as part of the ongoing station redevelopment project.

In addition to the access shift, unreserved ticket counters have also been relocated to the new temporary entry point. Passengers purchasing general tickets are advised to proceed directly to this area.

To facilitate easy movement between platforms, travellers can use a 30-metre-wide foot overbridge located near the temporary access point. The foot overbridge allows safe and convenient crossing across platforms during the construction phase.

The South Western Railway has taken several measures to prevent inconvenience to passengers. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at key locations to manage crowds and guide travellers. A help desk has been set up, and clear signage has been installed to assist passengers in navigating the temporary layout.

SWR officials added that frequent public announcements are being made across the station to keep commuters informed about the changes and direct them to the correct access points.
