A German woman’s humorous video on Bengaluru’s infamous traffic has gone viral, striking a chord with thousands of social media users who say her experience mirrors their daily commute struggles.

In a video shared on Instagram, the woman, identified as Liz, highlighted how living in Bengaluru demands careful planning even for short cab journeys, as traffic delays often stretch travel time to extreme lengths. In the clip, she can be seen eating food, editing work, and taking phone calls, all while still stuck in traffic.

“When living in Bengaluru, you really learn how to prepare well for cab rides because it takes so long. I have food, I’m editing, I’m taking calls, and I’m still not there. Traffic is crazy,” she says in the video. The post was captioned, “Bangalore traffic, we’re all part of it.”

The video quickly gained traction, prompting a flood of reactions from residents who shared their own survival tips and humorous observations. Many said her experience perfectly captured life on Bengaluru’s congested roads.

One user commented, “You need prior planning before you step out in Namma Bengaluru.” Another added, “Some of us literally have to work on laptops while riding motorcycles.” A third wrote, “During heavy rains, you can even take a good nap while stuck in traffic.” Another joked, “This is where all startup ideas are born. Bengaluru traffic gives you time to rethink life choices.” One user even guessed, “Sounds like you were stuck on Outer Ring Road.”

Bengaluru, widely known as India’s tech capital, struggles with chronic traffic congestion due to rapid urban growth and a booming IT sector. The city’s population has crossed 13 million, with millions of vehicles crowding narrow roads. Inadequate public transport, continuous infrastructure projects, and poor urban planning further worsen the situation.

During peak hours, commute times can extend for several hours, affecting productivity and quality of life. While initiatives such as metro rail expansion, traffic monitoring apps, and road improvement projects are underway, the traffic challenge remains severe due to high vehicle density and limited road capacity.

Liz’s video has once again highlighted Bengaluru’s traffic woes, but with humour, relatability, and a refreshing global perspective.
