Tata Nexon car with multiple defects delivered to customer
Customer calls Prerana Motors as the worst dealer of TATA Motors
Viral video prompts Tata Nexon's official handle to apologize customer
Bengaluru resident Sharath Kumar’s excitement over his new Tata Nexon quickly turned to disappointment when he discovered multiple defects in the Rs. 8.2 lakh vehicle.
Issues included water-filled headlights, scratches on the front bumper, quarter panel frame, and tailgate frame, as well as shoddy welding and improperly fitted door rubber beading.
The inspection at Prerana Motors in Yelahanka revealed a lack of pre-delivery inspection (PDI) or quality control (QC), even though the car was already registered in Kumar’s name. Describing Prerana Motors as the ‘Worst dealer of TATA Motors,’ he expressed dissatisfaction with their response to his concerns.
Despite raising the issues, neither Prerana Motors nor Tata Motors showed interest in providing a replacement or refund. Instead, they suggested accepting a repaired vehicle with an extended two-year warranty, an offer Kumar rejected. He took to Instagram to voice his grievances, and his video went viral with over 6.5 million likes.
The viral video prompted Tata Nexon’s official handle to apologize and request Kumar’s contact details for further assistance. However, Kumar remained unsatisfied and expressed a preference to settle the matter in court rather than accepting the proposed solution.
