With the 2024 Lok Sabha Election scheduled to begin on April 17th, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto. The manifesto has been titled “Sankalp Patra’ (Document of promise). The manifesto was released in the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. It covered a range of issues pertaining to problems faced by the youth, the poor, women and farmers. To summarise this theme the acronym GYAN (Gareeb, Yuva, Annadatha, Nari) has been devised.

A target of achieving the status of Viksit Bharat by the year 2047 has been set. The steps to achieve this have been underlined. This includes employment generation. Efforts to host the 2036 edition of Olympics will be made. The agenda of creating 3 crore “Lakpathi didis” (Millionaire sisters) has been put forth. Improvement of infrastructure for agriculture has been planned. Policies for fishermen will be drafted. 2025 will be celebrated as the year of pride for the tribal community. The agenda of “One Nation, One Election” will also be put to test were the BJP to come to power for the third consecutive time. Development in the North East part of India would be one of the aspects which would be of key focus for the BJP.
