    Metro services will be prolonged until 11:30 pm on Bengaluru IPL match days

    Commuters can utilize QR code tickets, smart cards, and NCMC cards

The Bidadi Marathon, set to take place this Sunday in the Bidadi Industrial Area, has prompted the early commencement of metro services for the convenience of participants. Typically beginning operations at 7 am, the metro will now start running at 4:30 am to accommodate those attending the Bidadi Half Marathon.

In a similar vein, metro authorities have announced an extension of service hours coinciding with the IPL matches scheduled for the 25th, 29th, and April 2nd at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. To cater to spectators, the last train service from all metro stations will be prolonged until 11:30 pm on these match days.

For the return journey, passengers can purchase paper tickets priced at Rs 50 from Cubbon Park and MG Road metro stations from 2:00 pm onwards. These tickets are valid for a single journey to any other metro station on the day of issue from 8 pm until the end of the day’s services. Notably, tokens will not be available at these stations, but commuters can utilize QR code tickets, smart cards, and NCMC cards as alternative payment methods.

To streamline ticket purchasing and mitigate crowding at ticket counters, the public is encouraged to utilize QR tickets, available for purchase via the Metro App, PayTM, or WhatsApp before the commencement of the cricket matches. This proactive measure aims to enhance passenger experience and ensure smooth operations during these events.
