Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his second consecutive double century in 2 matches with an unbeaten 236-ball 214 that consisted of 14 fours and 12 sixes. He has now scored 861 runs after playing merely 7 matches which consisted of 13 innings. Vinod Kambli holds the record for the fastest Indian to get to 1000 runs. He achieved the feat in 14 innings in 12 innings. Chesteshwar Pujara holds the second spot having reached the feat in 11 tests that consisted of 18 innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal has given himself  a chance to join this elite list of players. 

He also broke multiple other records with this innings. He is on level with Wasim Akram for most number of sixes in a test innings. He became the third youngest player to score two double centuries in tests after Vinod Kambli and Don Bradman. 

He was supported by Shubman Gill who scored a 151-ball 91 but was unfortunately runout and Sarfaraz Khan who scored a 72-ball 68.
