    Droupadi Murmu hails Ram Mandir construction

    She was addressing the joint session of Parliament

    Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to present Union Budget 2024 tomorrow

In her joint address to the Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu eulogised the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. She added that it is the fulfillment of aspirations running into centuries. 

“After waiting for centuries, Ram Lalla has now been enshrined in his grand temple in Ayodhya,” she said. 

On 2047, India’s completion of a 100 years of Independence

“Many friends will not be in this House to witness the year 2047. But our legacy should be such that the future generations remember us,” she noted. 

On gaining more importance in the world 

“Even in this era of global disputes and conflicts, my government has firmly placed India’s interests before the world.”

Other issues: 

“We are strengthening the sports economy to connect the country’s youth with skills and employment.”

“In the last 10 years, my Government has done unprecedented work in the field of tourism.”

“My government is continuously taking new initiatives for the education and skill development of India’s youth.”

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget tomorrow at 11 am. It will be a “vote-on-account” Budget. 

It is also interesting to note that Sitharaman will table the Budget for Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), presently under the President’s Rule.

However, the Centre has made it clear that it has no legislative agenda for the current session.
