Chiranjeevi's sexist remark 'ladies hostel' draw criticism

He also mentioned his hope that his son, Ram Charan, would have a boy next, suggesting concern over the absence of a male heir to continue the family lineage. His remarks have not gone down well with many on social media, with users expressing disappointment over what they see as a regressive mindset.

The backlash intensified after a viral video from the event circulated online, with critics condemning the actor’s stance on gender preferences in children. Many pointed out how such attitudes reinforce patriarchal norms and undermine the value of daughters in society.

Chiranjeevi, a father to two daughters and a grandfather to multiple granddaughters, had earlier celebrated the birth of Ram Charan’s daughter in June 2023 with enthusiasm. However, his latest comments have sparked a debate on gender bias.
